Our Story

Cold Blooded Cafe’s journey started in Reno Nevada in 2007. We had a large collection of Ball Pythons, for which we produced and raised our own feeder rodents out of a rental home garage near UNLV. Early on, everything was DIY as we built our own rodent racks, long before upgrading to professional equipment.

As time went on, the reptile collection grew and grew, and thus we needed to produce more rodents. In 2012 we moved to Eustis, FL and began to expand production at a new facility in hopes to turn our ‘hobby’ into a full-time business. In the early days, we would only sell to a handful of friends who also maintained large reptile collections, and overtime slowly built up to what Cold Blooded Cafe is today.

While living in Florida, we became connected with Terry Cullen, president of The Dragonwood Wildlife Conservancy. Terry mentored us in the care and conservation of crocodilians and other reptiles, and in return we would donate many of our surplus rodents to the conservancy to feed the animals. While in Florida, we grew production to where we filled a barn with rodents and equipment. Although the situation in Florida was doing well, we knew we had to grow and expand. This is when the opportunity arose to move the business to Indianapolis, IN.

Once production was thriving in Indiana, we began selling exclusively wholesale to a small list of customers. Over time, it became more and more clear that the transition to a retail-based company was inevitable. In 2016 we partnered with Levi and Sarah Cranston to make the transition to a publicly visible online retail company. This is when we assumed the business name ‘Cold Blooded Cafe.’ Since 2016, we have grown into one of the most prominent online sources for frozen rodents. I am very proud of how far we have come, and excited to see what the future holds! Thank you for being on this journey with us!
